Stars Shine Bright II Highlights Red Bud Festival Event

Everyone who lives in this region knows that it is loaded with musical talent.  The US 23 Country Music Highway, in the far Eastern part of Kentucky, is a designated National Scenic Byway – only one of three in the State. The US 23 Highway has been home to such stars as Billy Ray Cyrus, Loretta Lynn, The Judds, Dwight Yoakam, Patty Loveless and the list goes on. In order for these artists to have become successful they have had to leave the region to seek after professional industry support. Therefore, in an effort to foster the development of future musical talent from the region, the annual Red Bud Festival will feature talent development as its’ primary focus.  A songwriter and performer showcase along with a series of musical industry specific seminars, workshops and a panel discussion will highlight the weekend of April 24 and April 25, 2009. Nashville songwriters, producers and other industry professionals will invade Eastern Kentucky to teach and evaluate some of our future country music stars. The seminars, workshops and songwriter’s showcase are open to everyone, however the *performance showcase will be given first priority to those performers, who are serious about advancing their careers in the music business, and who reside or recently lived along the seven counties that form the Country Music Highway.  Additionally, any county that touches any one of the CMH counties will also be eligible. For more details on event and eligibility go to www.CountryMusicHighway.com.
Goodtyme Productions will be spearheading this effort; they co-produced the successful original Stars Shine Bright a few years ago.  Funding assistance for this event is provided by America’s Byways – National Scenic Byways and TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky.
